Week 7 results

I have to say most things went according to plan this week. Not a whole lot of upsets.

George Southern beat down Furman 50-20, and it was not really that close.

Northern Iowa won at South Dakota St. 31-14.

Montana St. was victorious over Northern Arizona 42-24.

North Dakota St. beat winless Missouri State 51-21.

Wofford beat Virginia Wise, which is a lower division, 47-14. The third string quarterback got to play. Back-to-back kick off returns for a touchdown did happen in this game.

Appy St. held off the Citadel 49-42, but most of the Citadel's points came late in the second half. So this was not as close as it looked.

James Madison beat Villanova 31-10. They were trailing at half, but turned on the jets in the second half.

Lehigh beat Fordham 34-12. Fordham managed a safety, but was really beat down in this game.

Jacksonville State beat Austin Peay 44-14. The OVC appears Jacksonville State's to lose as Tennessee Tech went down to rival Tennessee State 42-40. Jacksonville State is now the only team undefeated in OVC play.

The CAA did have the two real upsets this week. Towson beat Old Dominion 39-35. This means Towson is 5-1 and undefeated in the CAA. Delaware lost their game to UMass. UMass put up 21 points in the first quarter and never scored again. Delaware managed only 10 points, all in the second quarter. Towson and Maine are at the top of the conference with undefeated records. Maine beat Rhode Island this week. William and Mary manages to hang around in the picture with their home win against New Hampshire.

Some good games next week, as the season marches on. Stay tuned.
